Harry's Final Entry

Harry's book is finished and ready to sail home. The ducks have escaped and are ready for some summertime fun.

Harry's entire book is quite a beauty.

I had a difficult time deciding between a few ideas for your book Kerry. I considered the characters from the Wizard of Oz, A peacock and Elton John. Scanning the internet, I found an amazing video clip of Elton John dressed as a peacock performing "Crocodile Rock" with the Muppets and I was sold.

Media: Acrylic and sequins.

Harry's Book; Melissa's Entry

Watercolor Pencil and Ink. I noticed a few things I want to touch up tomorrow, but will pop this in the mail on Monday to Clare. So Clare, the question is...what's he shining that light on?

Finito

Hello all.
It occurred to me that I never posted my final entry in my book. I was following Clare's amazing birds if you recall. I have this little tradition where I draw a hand on the last page of my moly sketchbooks. Don't know why, but I did it in the first one and have continued over the past few years. So I added some patriotic paws to this book, too. It also seemed a nice compliment to the beginning. I want to shoot and post a video to share, I think you will find a really nice symmetry in the book and some cool coincidences from artist to artist. Thank you Alison, Tracy, Kerry, Jan and Clare for everything you put into my book. It's a treasure and I've enjoyed this crazy trip with each of you.

Alison's Moly

Round 8 in Alison's book is now complete. Will be on its way to Tracy very soon. Keeping with a musical theme I have chosen Hindu Goddess of art, music and literature, Saraswati for Alison's book.

The Red Wheelbarrow

For my second entry in Jan's book (theme Red/Read) I thought of the William Carlos Williams' poem "The Red Wheelbarrow." I googled it to be sure I had all the words correct and one of the top results was a bookstore in Paris with the same name. It seemed too good to be true. I also added some chickens from one of my daughter's favorite books "Click Clack Moo: Cows That Type."

Marker, Ink and watercolor.

Full circle

Clare's moly made it all the way around, and will begin it's reverse orbit later this week. Will get better pics tomorrow and a scan or two.
I struggled a bit with my favorite things. I'm not a collector of anything, except art supplies, which seemed to obvious. Some of the favorite things include: chocolate, chai, toe socks, good hair days, jodi picoult novels, fireplaces, christmas carols and an assortment of intangibles...the sound of my daughter snoring, the crunch of my husband's tires pulling into the drive, the smell of cookies baking, the sound of my grandmother's crochet needles, the color of the sky when it snows...

Jan's Book, My entry

I love the way Tracy's apple unknowingly set me up to draw the Twilight book cover. The quote from the book that I chose to illustrate is hard to read in this pic. It says "And so the lion fell in love with the lamb... What a stupid lamb...what a sick, masochistic lion."

Alison's Moly

Just some friends trying to help me get back into drawing. I've been so bummed all week about the missing moly that I truly didn't feel like touching any of the three in front of me. Marty's words helped and so I got back on the horse last night. Clare, I've set you up with another favorite from your pal, Vinnie. Will be posting early next week. There are a few loose ends I saw on the video that I want to clean up.

Oh, the places this moleskine went.

About 90% done. Will probably fuss with it a little over the next week as there is time. This my attempt to update the Rockwell painting and it was inspired by Tracy's quote. Hope you like it Tracy! There is a little spot in the museum for Clare to claim. Or is that a window? Hmmmm

I think this will be one of the longer distances and I want to see how long it takes. And of course I know if it sits in the house for another week I will fiddle with it and likely ruin it. I'll post some footage of it's final days on US soil and let you know when it's on the way.
